Identification

Identification difficulty = 5. microscope_icon camera_icon_cross according to Ball & Morris, 20241

Synonymy

This is likely to be an undescribed taxon.

Biology

Biology unknown. If it is a genuine 'species' then its larva can be expected to be an aphid predator and the adults will be found in low-growing vegetation.

Flight period

The following plots show the number of unique records per week that were not reported to be of eggs, larvae or pupae. phenology

Distribution

A single male was taken by Alan Stubbs in Blean Woods, Kent in 1976 (Stubbs, 1995)2. Further searches in the same area have failed to provide any more records. The male genitalia are very distinctive, but more material is required to show that this is not merely an aberrant individual. dotmap
